How to Share (Transfer) Recipes

Summary: The recipe sharing (transfer) feature lets you send a recipe — including its ingredients, purchases, nutrition, and more — to another CookKeepBook user. The recipient can then review and accept it into their own account.

Sharing a Single Recipe

When editing a recipe, press the Transfer Recipe button in the navigation bar. A popup will appear where you enter the recipient’s CookKeepBook email address and choose which data to include.

Bulk Transfer Using Selected Recipes

On the recipe list page, tap the Bulk Select button, then select the recipes you want to share. Tap the Transfer Selected button to open the bulk transfer popup. Enter the recipient’s email, choose what to include, and confirm.

Include / Exclude Toggles

When sharing a recipe, the following toggles let you control what gets transferred:

  • Ingredient Costs (Purchases): Send purchase price data for each ingredient. Turn off if you only want the recipe structure without cost details.
  • Nutrition: Include nutritional information that has been synced to the ingredients.
  • Sub-Recipes: If the recipe uses other recipes as ingredients, include those sub-recipes as well.
  • Recipe Profit: Transfer the profit margin / selling price data (PLUS).
  • Allergens: Include allergen tags that have been set on the ingredients.

Toggles that are not available for a given recipe will show “No” instead of a switch, meaning the sender did not include that data.

Accepting or Refusing Shared Recipes

When someone shares a recipe with you, it appears on the Recipe Share page. Each shared recipe shows the sender’s email address and the recipe name.

Accept: Click “Accept” to import the recipe into your account. Before accepting, you can review which data will be included and toggle each item on or off.

Refuse: Click “Refuse” to decline the shared recipe. It will be removed from your list.

Grouped sender actions: If the same user shared multiple recipes with you, you can use Select All / Select None to quickly mark recipes from that sender, then Accept Selected or Refuse Selected to process them in bulk.

Note: Once a recipe is shared and accepted, it cannot be removed from the recipient’s account by the sender. Only the recipient can delete it.
